Our Practice

Specialist-Led Care

Physical therapy in Bakersfield built around your case, not a routine. One specialist, one plan, your whole visit.

ARI Physical Therapy is an independent, clinician-owned outpatient practice in southwest Bakersfield. We were built on a simple conviction: empowering movement changes lives. Your licensed physical therapist stays with you for the whole visit, watching how you move, adjusting as you go, and treating with their hands.

That takes more time than the industry norm, and we chose it on purpose. Every plan begins with what you want to get back to, and we track your progress against it visit by visit, so you can feel the difference in your strength, in your comfort, and in what your day allows.

We treat orthopedic and sports injuries, post-surgical recovery, chronic pain, pelvic health, pediatric needs, and prenatal and postpartum care. We accept most private insurance plans and Medicare.

Deepa Konnur

PT, MPT, OCS
Founder & Clinic Director

Deepa Konnur is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) with more than 15 years of experience in outpatient physical therapy. She earned her Master of Physical Therapy at Loma Linda University, then completed an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency through the University of Southern California, one of the top-ranked physical therapy programs in the country.

She went on to earn board certification in the Orthopedic Specialty from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, a credential held by only a small percentage of licensed physical therapists nationwide. She has never really stopped being a student, and continues to train under some of the most respected physical therapists in the country.

Before opening ARI, Deepa served as a Spine Clinical Specialist PT at Kaiser Permanente, a specialist role dedicated to complex spine conditions and to finding conservative, non-invasive alternatives for patients heading toward surgery. She has also completed postgraduate pelvic rehabilitation training through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute, care she is especially passionate about providing to women in our community, and she has treated children throughout her career, an interest that dates back to her undergraduate years.

Patients most often describe her the same way: she listens, she explains what is actually happening in plain language, and she pushes you a little further than you thought you could go.

She launched ARI Physical Therapy with a clear goal: to bring Bakersfield the same standard of specialized, unhurried care she spent her career training for.

How we practice

One-on-one attention

Your licensed physical therapist works with you directly for your full session, so your plan keeps pace with how you are actually responding.

Find the cause, not the symptom

Pain is usually the last thing to show up and the first thing to be treated. We look upstream, at how you load, move, and compensate.

You leave knowing why

Every plan is explained in plain language, with a home program you understand well enough to keep doing after discharge.
